Join us for the official launch of the Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival 2026 with a fun‑filled Activity Day celebrating everything the Wolds has to offer. This year’s Activity Day theme is Vikings, marking 50 years of the iconic Viking Way and shining a light on the area’s rich links to the Viking era.
The Activity Day is designed for all ages, with a special focus on families and young people. Whether you’re looking to try something new, learn more about local heritage, or simply enjoy a lively day outdoors, there’ll be plenty to get involved in.
What to Expect
Viking Living History & Reenactment
Experience the past brought to life with captivating displays and living history tents from The Vikings of Middle England. Discover authentic clothing, weapons, and crafts, and enjoy engaging demonstrations that immerse you in Viking life.
Re‑enactments will take place at 12pm and 3pm.
Try‑It Outdoor Activities
Have a go at a variety of outdoor pursuits throughout the day. Activities include a climbing wall (supported by Horncastle Town Council), soft archery, wilderness skills, laser clay pigeon shooting, and face painting. These drop‑in activities are ideal for beginners and families looking for hands‑on fun.
Community & Festival Stalls
Meet local groups, activity providers, and festival partners offering information, demonstrations, and opportunities to get involved in outdoor life across the Wolds.
Food & Refreshments
Enjoy a selection of locally sourced food and drink from on‑site vendors.
The event is free to attend, with all attractions available at no charge.

Parking availability and location:
To support sustainable travel and help reduce congestion, attendees are encouraged to walk, cycle, or use public transport wherever possible. Visitors travelling by car are asked to use the East Lindsey District Council town‑centre car parks, which are approximately a 10‑minute walk from the school site.
Limited on‑site parking is available for Blue Badge holders only and will be allocated on a first‑come, first‑served basis. Organisers kindly ask attendees to be mindful of local residents and the highway network, helping to ensure the event remains enjoyable for the whole community.
Please note that the use of drones or any other unmanned aircraft is not permitted at this event. No drones have been authorised by the organisers for filming, promotional, or security purposes.
