DESCRIPTION:
Start your afternoon at Caistor Church with a leisurely tour of the ancient Saxon church; hear the stories of its fascinating history, its walls, windows and decorations yielding evidence of its Roman heritage and the centuries of change. Examine the unique Gad Whip and learn its story. Discover interesting evidence in the churchyard and the tower, where Caistor is proud of its peal of eight bells . We cannot gain access to the tower so we shall move on a mile down the road to Nettleton Church where local people and their campanology teacher will kindly demonstrate the skills of bell-ringing which they are learning.
