DESCRIPTION:
Join us for the concluding stage of the Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival 2026 Viking Way Challenge, a flagship event celebrating 50 years of the Viking Way and bringing this special three‑day journey through the Wolds to a memorable close.
Organised by Ramblers Lincolnshire in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council, the challenge follows the complete Lincolnshire Wolds section of the Viking Way, walked over three consecutive days. Participants are welcome to take part in any individual stage or complete all three days. Walkers who successfully finish the full three‑day challenge will receive a commemorative medal, created especially to mark the Viking Way’s 50th anniversary.

The final stage traverses the south‑west Lincolnshire Wolds, offering a fitting finale to the challenge. The route gently unfolds across open countryside before descending through the tranquil vales of the River Waring, gradually guiding walkers out of the Wolds and into the historic market town of Horncastle. This varied and scenic section brings together expansive views, pastoral landscapes and a strong sense of achievement as the Viking Way Challenge reaches its conclusion.
Booking Information: ⚠️ Advance booking is essential. Each stage is limited to a maximum of 30 participants per day, so early booking is strongly advised.
